2014 Energy Rate Forecast Updated
PSNH this week updated its forecasted 2014 Energy Service Charge.
The N.H. Public Utilities Commission will hold hearings later this month to determine what actual adjustment to the current rate may be necessary. The PSNH default energy service charge is typically adjusted each January 1st to reflect the actual cost of producing or purchasing the energy required to meet customer demand.
The anticipated PSNH energy charge is 9.23 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh), an increase from the previous forecast of 8.99 cents that was filed in October. The increase takes into account adjustments in anticipated energy sales during the upcoming calendar year and current energy market pricing conditions.
The updated rate appears to be in line with what is occurring with the region’s utilities, largely as a result of higher energy market prices.
